A World Cup opening worth gathering for
The Rugby League World Cup begins on Thursday 15 October with Australia against New Zealand. It is the kind of opening match that sets the tone for the whole tournament. At The Social, we are backing Australia to go all the way.
The first weekend keeps coming: Samoa face France on Friday, Papua New Guinea meet Lebanon and England take on Tonga on Saturday, then Fiji play the Cook Islands on Sunday. Saturday also brings Australia versus New Zealand in the Bledisloe Cup.
Premier League from Saturday evening to Sunday night
Everton versus Chelsea opens our Premier League weekend on Saturday evening. Brentford against Liverpool, Fulham against Hull City and Manchester City against Ipswich Town follow at 9:00 pm Vietnam time.
Sunday is just as busy: Bournemouth face Sunderland, Brighton meet Crystal Palace and Leeds United play Manchester United at 8:00 pm. Nottingham Forest against Arsenal closes the night at 10:30 pm.
